Profile

Court Knoll Lodge was founded in 1986 and meets seven times a year at Boxford Village Hall in Suffolk. These meetings take place on the third Tuesday in March, April, May and September, October and November. The December meeting is held on the second Tuesday in the month. There is a ceremonial part to our meetings, followed by a meal. Usually, the meetings start around 17:30 hours and finish by 22:00 hours.
On other Tuesdays evenings during the year, but by no means all, we hold regular Lodges of Instruction. The focus is mainly on newer members to help them learn more about Freemasonry and to grow in their understanding in a more informal setting. Longer serving and more experienced members come along to help and guide our newer members whenever and however they can.
The Lodge currently has 39 members of various ages, many of whom actively attend. There is no common theme to their backgrounds, save for the fact that they joined as a result of a recommendation from an existing member(s).
The current membership subscription is £150 per annum. In addition to that would be the cost of a meal, currently £30.00 each.
Occasionally, the Lodge organises social events for members, partners and non-Masonic guests. Court Knoll Lodge is the appointed leader in Suffolk of the Masonic Fishing Association, which organises an introduction to fly & course fishing, particularly for youngsters with learning or physical restrictions.
Each year we collect and donate significant sums to local non-Masonic causes, as well as supporting the central Masonic Charitable Foundation and the Province of Suffolk’s charitable projects.
Members enjoy working together to deliver ritual and ceremonial to the best of our abilities, which makes for very special evenings especially for new members and guests. The Lodge values each member’s support at any level. This could take the form of being very involved in the ceremonies and rituals, being more administratively orientated or by simply suggesting and helping to arrange other events.
Our ideal Candidate should have a good sense of humour and enjoy life. The ethos of the Lodge is that every member brings a different gift; not all are great ritualists, organisers or Treasurer material. However, every brother is afforded the opportunity to become better at what they enjoy doing and indeed those things that they find a challenge. No brother is looked down on; all are encouraged to succeed. We have all bought in to the idea of excellence in the Lodge room but to enjoy what we do.
We acknowledge that each member has different amounts of time that they can make available to Freemasonry and try our best to ensure that all members who show commitment are warmly welcomed at all times.
We are ‘All Brothers Together’.
Our unofficial motto is ‘Fun, Friendship & Fellowship’.
